About

Urbend is a portmanteau of "urban" and "Coastal Bend." Our goal is simple, to highlight the eccentric side of our community. While fishing and country music dominate the area, our coast has so much more to offer. We want to give a voice to the talent that doesn't have a platform, like the musicians pursuing careers in pop, rap, and EDM, for example. Unlike some traditional publications, we do not support the concept of native content or paid profiles, and oppose paying for an article or placement on a list. We believe quality, integrity, and transparency with our readers is far more valuable, and that all of our advertisements should be recognized for what they are. We are a publication for the community, by the community. Locally owned and operated, we don't just live here, we grew up here.
